Coding agents often wrap a simple answer in praise, background, side notes and an offer to help more. The useful instruction ends up in the middle of a paragraph. This skill gives the agent ten rules so the answer comes first and the rest stays out of the way.

It is a skill/plugin file (SKILL.md) that the agent reads and follows. The README shows a before and after: a long paragraph about an auth bug becomes one command, three numbered steps and one line saying what to do if a test fails.

The rules are plain text, so you can change them. Fork the repo, edit SKILL.md, and install your copy in place of the original. The README says it is loosely based on a book about adult ADHD, adapted for how an LLM should respond, and that no diagnosis is needed to use it.

## What it does

- **Action first**: Each reply leads with the next thing to do and ends with one concrete next step. No preamble, recap or closing line like "Hope this helps!".
- **Numbered steps, short lists**: Multi-step tasks are numbered, and lists are capped at five items.
- **State restated each turn**: The agent restates where things stand every turn, so you don't have to scroll back.
- **Plain errors and time estimates**: Errors are reported matter-of-factly, time estimates are given in specific minutes, and wins are made visible.
- **Editable rules**: The ten rules live in one SKILL.md file. You can fork the repo, change them, and reinstall with the Claude plugin commands.

## What you could build

- Get shorter, scannable answers from your coding agent during long debugging sessions.
- Turn vague agent advice into numbered steps you can follow one at a time.
- Fork the skill and rewrite its rules to match your own preferred reply style.
- Use it as a worked example of how a SKILL.md changes an agent's output format.

## Who it's for

Developers who use Claude Code or a similar coding assistant and want terser, action-first replies; you only need to know how to install a plugin or skill.

## Get started

Paste the install prompt into your coding assistant's CLI, or follow INSTALL.md in the repo. Restart the assistant, then run /i-have-adhd.

```
Install the i-have-adhd skill/plugin from https://github.com/ayghri/i-have-adhd, refer to the repo's AGENTS.md for instructions.
```
