A macOS browser where AI agents work in their own Spaces while you keep browsing

Most browser tools for agents, such as Browser-Use and Vercel's agent-browser, are libraries that drive some other browser. Your logins rarely carry over cleanly, and you and the agent end up competing for the same window. AI browsers like ChatGPT Atlas and Perplexity Comet ship their own built-in agent, and only that agent can drive them.

ego lite is one browser built for you and any agent you bring. Each agent gets a Space, an isolated workspace inside the same browser, and you keep browsing in yours. On first launch it can migrate your Chrome data, so the agent inherits your logins, cookies, extensions and bookmarks.

The agent connects through an ego-browser skill. Instead of calling one command at a time, it writes a JavaScript snippet that calls in-page tools (snapshot, fill, click, wait, navigate, capture), and the browser runs it in one pass. A Snapshot is the page turned into structured text a model can read. The README reports up to 2.5x faster runs than agent-browser on four tasks; those are the authors' own benchmarks.

What it does

  • A separate Space for each agent

Each agent works in an isolated Space while you browse in your own. You can see which Space has an agent running, and take it over or stop it.

  • Parallel tasks

Several Spaces run at once, each with its own agent or task, for example one agent enriching leads in many Spaces. They don't take over your tabs.

  • Code-based control

Browser actions are JavaScript functions the agent calls. It can compose a multi-step task in one script instead of a loop of single commands.

  • Works with any agent CLI

The ego-browser skill connects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or a custom agent to the browser.

  • Chrome data migration

On first launch you can bring over logins, cookies, extensions and bookmarks. Browsing data stays on your device.

What you could build

  • Follow an account or fill in a form on a site where you're already logged in, by asking your agent in plain language.
  • Enrich a list of leads by running one agent per Space in parallel.
  • Scrape several competitor sites at once while you keep working in your own tabs.
  • Test pages with deeply nested iframes using structured page snapshots.
  • Hand a repeatable web chore to Claude Code or Codex without giving up your browser.

Get started

Download the macOS app from the README or add the skill with npx; the agent will guide you through installing the app on its first browser task. Then type /ego-browser in your agent and describe the task in plain language.
