Solo founders do many small jobs by hand: weighing decisions, researching topics, keeping notes, planning posts, watching cash. This repo packages those jobs as skills, which are markdown workflow documents (SKILL.md files) that an AI coding agent can load when you ask for them.

Each skill takes structured input and produces structured output saved to your own files. For example, decide asks about your choice, picks questions from the 37signals decision framework, and archives the answer with a revisit date. You can run a skill with a slash command, or read the SKILL.md and follow the steps yourself.

Skills call one another by name instead of repeating work. The repo is generic and public, while your personal data and config live in a separate local folder that is not committed. It also includes meta-skills for writing your own skills, wiring up integrations, and setting up scheduled loops.

## What it does

- **Decision and strategy skills**: decide, unstuck, maker-council, business-brainstorm, domain and deep-research help you think through forks, pressure-test ideas, find an available .com, and research with citations.
- **Second-brain and company-brain**: Capture, query and lint a markdown knowledge base, following a wiki workflow credited to Karpathy. The company version adds multi-author attribution, sensitivity tags and a review pass.
- **Content intake skills**: read-book, watch-video and ingest pull notes, transcripts, action items and drafted replies out of books, videos, calls and messages. social-fetch fetches posts from about 10 platforms.
- **Operations and finance**: pm runs a kanban board across projects, personal-cfo models household scenarios, and company-cfo handles monthly snapshots and weekly cash checks.
- **Meta-skills**: skillify creates or adapts skills, toolify wires in APIs and MCP servers, and loopify sets up agent loops and scheduled tasks.

## What you could build

- Work through a business or personal decision with a structured question set and a saved revisit date.
- Research a topic with citations and archive the result in a markdown vault.
- Turn a call transcript or client message into action items, GitHub issues and a drafted reply.
- Find an available .com domain for a new project, including trademark and social handle checks.
- Write your own skill from a chat or video using skillify.

## Who it's for

Founders and indie operators who already use Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and want ready-made workflows; you should be comfortable with slash commands and setting shell environment variables.

## Get started

Install the plugin in Claude Code, then set MAKERSKILLS_CONFIG in your shell profile and reload it. Start with /decide, which needs no config, and read its SKILL.md to see the pattern.

```
/plugin marketplace add coreyhaines31/makerskills
