Command-line tool and agent skill for scheduling social posts across 28+ platforms

Posting to many social networks by hand is slow, and each platform has its own rules. Postiz Agent wraps the Postiz API in a command-line tool called postiz, so a person or an AI agent can create, schedule and manage posts from the terminal.

The repo also packages a postiz skill for several agent tools. It ships manifests for Claude Code, Cursor, Grok Build, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code and DeepSeek Harness. Some of these also connect to a hosted Postiz MCP server. The skill tells the agent how to drive the CLI, which handles media uploads for image and video posts.

You sign in with a browser-based device login or an API key. A custom API URL lets you point the CLI at another Postiz endpoint. The README does not compare it with other schedulers.

What it does

  • Create and schedule posts

posts:create takes content, a date and one or more integration IDs. It supports drafts, comments with their own media, multi-platform posts, per-platform settings and a JSON file for complex posts.

  • Manage existing posts

List posts by date range, delete them, switch them between draft and scheduled, and patch provider-specific settings on unpublished posts.

  • Media upload

postiz upload sends PNG, JPG, GIF or MP4 files to Postiz and returns a URL. The README says TikTok, Instagram and YouTube need media from trusted URLs.

  • Analytics

Fetch channel metrics such as followers and impressions, or per-post likes, comments and shares. Extra commands reconnect posts when a platform returns no post ID.

  • Video clipping

clipping:create turns a long YouTube video into short vertical clips with burned-in captions. It can also create a draft post for each clip on the channels you choose.

What you could build

  • Ask Claude Code or Cursor to schedule a week of posts across several channels.
  • Upload a video and queue it for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube from a script.
  • Cut a YouTube talk into short clips and review them as drafts before publishing.
  • Pull follower and post metrics for a channel into an agent-written report.
  • Move a scheduled post back to draft so it will not publish.

Get started

Install the CLI and sign in with the browser device flow, or set POSTIZ_API_KEY. Then add the skill or plugin for your agent tool and ask it to post.

npm install -g postiz
postiz auth:login
npx skills add gitroomhq/postiz-agent

Commands are copied from the project's README. Read it on GitHub for the full setup.
