no-mistakes

A local git remote that runs AI checks on your branch before opening a PR

When coding agents write much of your code, sloppy changes can slip into pull requests. no-mistakes adds a gate between your branch and your real remote. You run git push no-mistakes instead of git push origin.

The gate makes a disposable worktree, so your own checkout is left alone. There it runs a pipeline: review, test, docs, lint, push, PR and CI. Each step either passes or stops with a finding. Safe, mechanical fixes are applied automatically. Anything that touches your intent goes to you to approve, fix or skip.

Only after every local check is green does the branch go to the push target, and the PR is opened for you. If CI fails later, the pipeline can repair it and push the fix, sending it back through review when it cannot show the fix builds on what you already reviewed. It works with many coding agents, such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Copilot and Cursor, with ordered fallbacks.

What it does

  • Local gate before your remote

no-mistakes init sets up a gate remote for your repo. Pushing to it starts the pipeline instead of publishing straight away.

  • Isolated worktree

Checks run in a disposable worktree, so you can keep working in your own checkout meanwhile.

  • Findings you can act on

Safe fixes are applied automatically. Judgement calls show up in a terminal UI where you approve, fix or skip them.

  • PR and CI handling

Once checks pass, it forwards the branch, opens the PR and watches CI. It can auto-fix CI failures.

  • Three ways to trigger it

Use git push no-mistakes, the no-mistakes TUI, or the /no-mistakes skill so your coding agent does a task and gates it.

What you could build

  • Gate AI-written branches with review, tests and lint before they reach your real remote.
  • Open pull requests automatically with a generated description after checks pass.
  • Let a coding agent finish a task and run it through the pipeline with /no-mistakes.
  • Contribute to a GitHub fork by initializing with --fork-url while origin stays on the parent repo.
  • Have CI failures repaired and re-pushed without hand-fixing each one.

Get started

Install it, then run no-mistakes init inside your repo to create the gate. Push a branch with git push no-mistakes, then run no-mistakes to open the TUI and review findings.

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kunchenguid/no-mistakes/main/docs/install.sh | sh
no-mistakes init
git push no-mistakes

Commands are copied from the project's README. Read it on GitHub for the full setup.
