A curated list of Claude Skills, grouped by task, with links to each one

Claude Skills are small packages of instructions and scripts, usually built around a SKILL.md file, that teach Claude how to do a specific job. Good ones are scattered across many GitHub repos. This repo gathers them in one README.

The list is split into sections such as Document Skills, Development & Code Tools, Data & Analysis, Scientific & Research Tools, Media & Content and Security & Web Testing. There are also sections for articles and for larger collections. Each entry is a link with a one-line description. Many point to Anthropic's official skills repo (docx, pdf, pptx, xlsx). Others are community projects, such as read-only database query skills, test-design tools and linters for agent configs.

It is a link list, not a framework or installer, and it has no code of its own. You judge each skill by its own repo. The README also shows sponsor banners for two API platforms, which are ads. The README text I was given cuts off partway through the Data & Analysis section, so I can't describe the later sections in detail.

What it does

  • Sorted by task

Entries are grouped into sections like documents, development, data, science, media, security and automation, so you can jump to the area you care about.

  • Official document skills

Links to Anthropic's docx, pdf, pptx and xlsx skills. They cover editing Word files, extracting PDF text and tables, building slides and working with spreadsheets.

  • Developer-focused picks

The development section lists skills for test-driven development, git worktrees, debugging with breakpoints, AWS and Terraform work, and linting agent config files.

  • Data and database skills

Includes a CSV summarizer, read-only SQL skills for PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL Server, and a Kaggle integration.

  • Articles and collections

The table of contents also lists sections for blog posts and larger skill collections, plus a contribution section for adding your own.

What you could build

  • Browse the list to find a ready-made skill for editing Word, PDF, PowerPoint or Excel files with Claude.
  • Pick up a testing, debugging or git workflow skill to add to your Claude Code setup.
  • Read how other people structure their SKILL.md files before writing your own skill.
  • Find a read-only database skill so Claude can query PostgreSQL or MySQL safely.
  • Submit your own skill to the list through its contribution section.

Get started

Open the README, pick a section that matches your task, and follow the link to the skill's own repo. Install it using the instructions there, since this list gives no install commands.

Commands are copied from the project's README. Read it on GitHub for the full setup.
